Dec. 19 Angel Tree Update from SOAR Ministries, Inc |
|
Dear Keri,
We had an early start this morning heading to Aguascalientes . Before heading to the churches we did a little shopping. Some of you may be getting some Christmas gifts from Aguas. We then drove another hour and a half to a church on the outskirts of Aguas. The people were patiently waiting for us since we were behind schedule. We expected about thirty kids but about fifty plus showed up to hear the lesson and receive their bags. Before we left we were handed burritos that the women had made for us and we brought it with us to the next church. Then we drove back to the city where there were about fifty children waiting for us. It was dark outside but we had enough light to present the lesson and hand out bags. Afterwards we ate and fellowshipped with the many families there. Juan Cordava, the minister of both of these churches, certainly has a way with the kids. This was apparent by the children's gratitude. Today was a lot of driving but those smiling faces were definitely worth it! We hit the road again early tomorrow to visit two more locations. And then it's back to Georgia.
Dios les bendiga (God bless you)
