Dear Friends,

Another month has passed us by in this beautiful Georgia springtime. Exciting things continue to happen with SOAR and we never want you to think we can do it on our own. You are a vital part of this ministry and we thank our God each day for the role you have.
Young American Christian School 2008
YACS 2008 YACS 2008
Most of you received the updates from the field to know that the Young Americans Christian School mission was a great success. There were 28 of us in all, 26 from YACS plus two from SOAR, Melinda and Keri. From going to the schools, to doing physical work, to conducting the Youth Rallies each night, the schedule was certainly busy but well worth it. We were excited about the decisions made by the youth, especially the two baptisms. There are lots of youth that the ministers in the area will be following up. The messages of the two roads gave the youth something to think about, and hopefully they will continue learning about following God's road that leads to salvation. Be sure to check out the YACS photo link on the left to see some snapshots of the week.
Keeping up with SOAR family
Lotz Family The Lotz Family
Some of you may remember Eric & Jennifer Lotz and their kids, Christa, Hannah, Wilson, and Jett. Their 5th child is on the way, to arrive in this world the end of July. They brought the Wesley campus ministry from Missouri Southern State University to Atlanta to work at Fellowship Mission for spring break for 5 years. Now they are heading back to the mission field in Haiti. Here is their explanation of the new ministry.

New Hope Haiti Mission began as an orphanage back in 2000.  It is a small orphanage serving 27 children in Ft. Jacqes, Haiti.  In addition to the orphanage, New Hope Haiti Mission also distributes dry rice and beans twice a month for the small, rural village of Balan.  Balan is a village of about 2100 people tucked in between mountains to the east and to the west.  It is an arid environment, with very little rainfall.  A Christian church has been established there and has a building where they have been meeting since 2007. Other than the church, there are very few concrete structures.  The people live in tiny, mud huts each housing about 10 people. There is no source for clean water in Balan, no affordable schooling, and no medical clinic.  We will be working on these issues in cooperation with the established Christian church.  Until we have access to clean water and have time to build a house for our family, we will be living in Ft. Jacqes, the current location of the orphanage.  We have already rented a house there that has plenty of room for visitors!  Our first and main concern is finding a way to provide clean water for these precious people whom God loves so dearly.  Pray with us that God will make a way for these people to know Him.  Isaiah 41:17  "The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst.  But I the LORD will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them."
"If Jesus Christ be God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him."
