| SOAR Mourns the loss of a great supporter |
 It is with great sadness that SOAR once again this year mourns the loss of a great supporter. Keith Bunn received his heavenly reward in December. He never went on one of our short term missions, but he supported us in every other way and his wife Dianne is one of our board members. He affectionately called us SOART - Serving Others And Rejoicing Together. From using his contacts to give us a gift our first Christmas we were incorporated with seed money for the organization, to getting us on the workshop presenter list at the Georgia Missionary Rally and National Missionary Convention, he did all he could to support us. We continue to keep Dianne, Bekah, Jenny and Keth in our prayers. |
| Lyons for Christ Scholarship renamed "Encouragers for Christ" |
| In 2005 we had a donor establish a scholarship in memory of Rita Lyons who was a "sender" for missions. The single $300 scholarship is awarded annually for someone participating in our summer missions. This year, when Carmen Emerson went to be with our Lord, we received some financial gifts in her memory. After much contemplation of an appropriate remembrance, we, the original donor, and the board decided to place the money in the scholarship fund and rename it the Encouragers for Christ Scholarship.
