ABOUT USHistory of the OrganizationKeri Duncan and Judy Trollinger both enjoyed participating in Short-Term Missions. In the summer of 1998 they were both on a trip to the Dominican Republic together. On the way home from the trip sitting next to each other on the flight, they both discussed how much they enjoyed working in missions especially overseas missions. It was an experience like no other. They each continued their independent work in various missions locally, and continued to stay in touch. In early March of 1999 at the Spirit's conviction to Judy, she confided in Keri that she felt she was to start a short-term mission organization. Keri jumped at the chance to get more involved in missions, and the organization was on its way. During the next week the name SOAR was selected and they were well on their way. By the end of November they were incorporated in the state of GA as a non-profit organization with the purpose of enabling others to participate in short-term missions. For accountability, a board of directors was chosen by Keri and Judy. The board serves not only as financial accountability partners, but spiritually as well. All members have a vision for winning the lost and are active in their local churches. Keri served as a teacher to missionary children in Ecuador in 93/94 and has been on many other trips since then including back to Ecuador, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and local missions from intercity Atlanta to rural Appalachia of Ohio. She previously served on the missions ministry at Mt. Carmel Christian Church, and coordinated the yearly missions banquet. Currently she teaches the children's church mission Sunday once a month at her church and serves at the Fellowship Mission in downtown Atlanta. While not busy with missions she has worked as a technology coordinator at Kanoheda Elementary School in Lawrenceville, GA until 2001, she then worked for the University of Georgia as a Instructional Specialist and returned to work as a technology coordinator at Lilburn Elementary School in Lilburn, Georgia in 2002 where she currently works part-time. Judy participated in her first short-term mission to the Dominican Republic in November of 1997. That experience so changed her life she knew the Lord might have something more for her in regards to missions. She later went to the Dominican Republic again, and to Mexico. She has previously served on the committee for the GA Missionary Rally of Christian Churches, and her local missions committee at Tucker Christian Church. She has also served as the ministry leader for community outreach at her church. She spends the rest of her time working as a para-legal for Primerica Financial Services. What We BelieveThis organization was founded by members of independent Christian Churches, which are part of the restoration movement. We continually strive to restore the church to its original foundation in the book of Acts. We believe in the sovereignty of God in all circumstances and that He has given us the great commission to go into all the world and make disciples. Board Members
